J teaches classes on American and European racial formations, nationhood and nationalism, interactional sociology, political sociology, qualitative methods, and sociological theory. Their teaching is student-centered and collaborative.
They are committed to a pedagogical approach that develops both sociological insights and analytic resources that students can take with them beyond the classroom. Beyond this, they commit themselves to centering student agency, encouraging students to take part in designing course activities and assessments.
